Turboalgor can be applied to refrigeration systems operating with any refrigerant: CO₂, HFO, R290, NH3, HFC.
The expansion-compression organ is a turbo-compressor for the refrigerants HFO, R290, NH3, HFC, and a Free Piston Expander Compressor for CO₂.
The Turboalgor CO₂ solution consists of an additional system consisting of a Free Piston Expander-Compressor with its Control Valve and a Heat Exchanger. The innovative system makes it possible to recover the potential energy available in the conventional refrigeration cycle, which would otherwise be lost in the expansion valve.
Turboalgor® CO₂ significantly improves the coefficient of performance of conventional refrigeration systems. This means that when applied to a compressor refrigeration system, Turboalgor® CO₂ technology can achieve energy savings in the order of 19% and increases in cooling capacity of up to 42%, at an evaporation temperature of -20°C.
Turboalgor's technological solutions for HFO and PROPANO refrigerants consist of an additional system consisting of a Turbocompressor and a Heat Exchanger.
Turboalgor® HFO significantly improves the coefficient of performance of conventional refrigeration systems. Using R1234yf as a reference, energy savings of close to 15% and an increase in cooling capacity of up to approximately 37% are achieved at an evaporation temperature of -30°C.
Turboalgor® PROPANO provides energy savings of more than 13% and an increase in cooling capacity of up to 35%, at an evaporation temperature of -40°C.
Turboalgor is the company at the head of COLD ENERGY, a project financed by the European Community with the aim of reducing consumption and emissions and improving the efficiency of cooling systems.
Turboalgor contributes to increasing the competitiveness of European companies in the refrigeration industry.
Using cutting-edge technology, Turboalgor is able to cut carbon emissions, in line with EU directives.
With its three application solutions, Turboalgor can intervene on both new and existing systems.
